For ages I have been searching for a poem I read at school. Unfortunately most poem searches rely on the fact that the searcher must have either:
The first line of the poem (which I don’t) or
The Author (which I also don’t have)
So now I call on the 4 or 5 people who read this blog to help me find this poem! The poem is a conversation between fingers and toes. The fingers go on about how they hold pens and are cleverer than toes. The final lines of the poem are something like:
“Fingers may have all the cunning, but the deepest instinct of all is running.” I thought the title of the poem was “A conversation between fingers and toes” but I’ve searched under that and not found anything.
So if anyone has heard of it, knows of a better place to search, happens to work for ‘Quote Unquote’ or ‘Poetry Please’ on radio 4 please do tell me. This has been bugging me for years!
